In 2003, I discovered Empowerment Script, and recognised what it was, and some of the important and ramifications for thought in psychology, education, communication and creativity that it entailed.
Texts in Empowerment Script have been on this website for years, and in 2012, I added an animation to show how it can be of value.
My task had been to ensure that the discovery of Empowerment Script did not disappear. It has been a long and hard journey to do that.
In November 2015, Adrian Masterman-Smith and I published the world’s first printed book in Empowerment Script. We combined 'Sam the Tram’s Dance Club', and the Empowerment Script format. We took the book to an ISSTD Conference in Sydney and distributed it to as many psycho-traumatologists as possible.
In February 2016, we got a phone call from traumatologist Mary Sutton : ‘Lowen, the book works.’
Since then, there have been many instances where the book has helped people with exhaustion, mental weariness, PTSD and even Dissociation.
Not only that - but the book helps with Dyslexia.
I can confidently call for support into the research of the phenomenon of Empowerment Script.
We will need anything from enough to ensure we can create some more books and animations, to the establishment of a full University level Institute to both help people with trauma and to research it. This needs to be funded by philanthropists and Governments, to ensure that the discovery reaches the world from Victoria Australia.
So far, media has been good : The Maryborough Advertiser ran a great article, and the ABC broadcast an in depth interview.
Mary, Adrian and I are now working on an academic paper, and look to presenting at International Conferences.
My struggle has been to keep Empowerment Script alive and now I hope to be able to continue with new works and research, and to ensure that it is made available to all who have experienced trauma or mental anguish.
Sam the Tram’s Empowerment Script Edition is available on iTunes, and I hope that all interested in something that can lead to creativity will buy a copy. People with trauma are also encouraged to buy and read and enjoy it, but it would be sensible to work with your therapist with it as well.
THERAPISTS, JOIN THE RESEARCH PROJECT Therapists can get in touch with me or Mary Sutton for more information about Empowerment Script for therapeutic use. We would welcome you into our research project.
I would like to thank Adrian for his support over the years with this project, and Mary for now being part of the team. Without either of you, I am sure I would have given up long ago. I would also like to thank those involved in my studies and Doctorate, and colleagues of the HREC of the Department of Health and Human Services Victoria.
THE RAMIFICATIONS FOR THOUGHT : If Empowerment Script continues towards helping people with the wounds of trauma, we may find greater positivity to success in treatment. That would of itself create a whole new psychology of valuing people with trauma, and with dyslexia. (Adrian Masterman-Smith has begun research into possible connections.)
But, as Empowerment Script can also be good for creativity, it will be of use to everyone. For writers, publishers and communicators, it may have benefits, as learning and reading are more effective.
In fact, the benefits of writing and reading, huge as they are, may be increased, as more and more books are published in the Empowerment Script format.
I hope that we are at the beginning of a great revolution of thought.
Thank you,
Lowen

We had a great day at the Williamstown Literary Festival, with kids and their parents enjoying artmaking and dancing the Tramba. The Mayor of Hobsons Bay, Sandra Wilson, lead the dance around the Town Hall. We made great memories for the kids and parents.
The books featured at our presentation at Newport Railway Workshops, as part of Steamrail’s Open Days.

What a great weekend. Armed with two new books, 'Sam the Tram’s Dance Club' and 'Melbourne with Sam the Tram', we met old friends and made new friends. Tram drivers who had driven 'Sam the Tram' on Melbourne roads and students who had loved our original books at school joined with a new generation of kids, who were glued to the screen, watching the draft animation of 'Sam the Tram’s Dance Club' up to 4 times in a sitting. Parents and adults listened with great pleasure to the voice of the late and greatly missed Leo McKern (Rumpole of the Bailey), as he read one of our originals, The Great Tram Race.
Kids loved dancing the Tramba, and ‘being' Sam and the other friends. Our performance/workshops should be a good offering.
The books were well received, and sales were amazing. With so many years of experience at similar occasions behind us, we were stunned. And there were plenty of requests for the first book. We shall have to update it to our new digital look !
Hundreds of kids and adults watched the draft animation, and many then bought the newly released books.
